Uniform & Appearance Code

St. Paul School's uniform supplier for all uniform pieces is Flynn O'Hara. No other company or retailer is permitted (medical exceptions only). 

The uniform code will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply with the uniform code may warrant a loss of privliege or other consequences. 

Uniforms should be clean and in good repair. 

Jumpers and skirts must be no shorter than 3" above the knee. 

Non-banded shirts must be tucked in; no undergarments should be visible. 

Dress Uniform is required for students in grades 5-8 on designated days. 

winter uniform

Worn daily, generally November thru April (exact dates that Winter Uniform takes effect will be announced). 

Fall/Spring Uniform

Worn daily, generally September/October and May/June (exact dates that Fall Uniform ends and Spring Uniform begins will be announced). 

Dress Uniform

Worn by all students in grades 5-8 on days students attend Mass. Special dates for Dress Uniform may also be announced. 

Gym Uniform

Worn on the day(s) each week students attend gym class. Spirit Wear is also permitted on days students attend gym.

Uniform t-shirts must be purchased through Flynn O'Hara, but the bottoms are optional. Pre-K students may wear any khaki or navy pants, skirts, skorts, or shorts*. Pre-K students also have the option of purchasing and wearing approved K (and up) uniform pieces. 

*When fall/spring uniforms are in effect

All students' hair should be neatly groomed, appropriate in length, and not obstruct the eyes. 

Boys' hair should not be past the collar.

Radical or dyed hairstyles of any type are not permitted.

Hats and hoods are not to be worn in the building and should be worn appropriately while outside. 

Body painting and tatoos are not permitted for students. 

A minimal amount of makeup and light-colored nail polish may be worn as a privilege by girls in 8th grade only. Makeup or nail polish are not to be worn by any other students.

Since students wear uniforms, a minimal amount of appropriate jewelry may be worn to school with parent/guardian approval. We prefer that no jewelry be worn on gym days. Please limit to: 

• one ring
• one watch (no bulky watches, no smart watches)
• one close-fitting (no hoops/dangles) earring in each ear (girls only)
• one necklace
• one bracelet

Students must always be properly and modestly attired on dress down days.

• If choosing shorts: During a dress down day in the fall/spring, only SPS gym shorts are allowed. 
• Other bottoms falling below the knee (jeans, capirs, etc.) are acceptable. 

• Tank tops, short/crop tops, revealing tops, t-shirts with inappropriate sayings/graphics
• Skirts/dresses that are tight and/or fall more than 3" above the knee
• Leggings or yoga pants
• Flip flops, Crocs, or other shoes that can be hazardous 
• Any other items of clothing not in keeping with moral decency and a Christian code of conduct

SPS Spirit Wear is acceptable on an everday-basis. Non-SPS outerwear is not allowed to be worn in the classroom.
