Last month, before kicking of Memorial Day Weekend, we had the 26th Annual Bob Cronin Memorial Golf Outing. Each year this event helps to ensure that children in our school and parish have a positive experience with athletics in a Christ-centered environment. It was truly uplifting to hear two of our students - Leo Teti (8th grade) and Gianna Kennedy (7th grade) - speak about their personal experiences with SPAC during their time here at SPS. We are so grateful to Mr. Russell Lorring, our SPAC Athletic Director, for coordinating this event. Additionally, we are thankful for the support of all of the golfers, our sponsors, our volunteers, and our alumni. It was an excellent day filled with lots of fun, even for those of us who are once-a-year golfers!
Although the weather didn’t cooperate, it was a wonderful day for our 2nd graders and a few other SPS students who received their First Holy Eucharist on Saturday. It really was a beautiful ceremony! My thanks to Ms. Pirri, Mrs. D’Orlando, John McGuire, and our parents who helped prepare the children for this sacrament. The second graders were treated to a small snack on Monday after I read the book, “The Caterpillar That Came to Church.”
Registration for Spring Athletics is now open! Click on the graphic below to be redirected to the SPS Registration Website. Uniform orders for Soccer are due on March 21st. Early Bird prices will be available until March 21st.
By all accounts, Catholic Schools Week was a huge success. Hopefully, your children shared all of the activities that they participated in. We ended Catholic Schools Week with the presentation of the Nativity by the 4th and 5th graders. It was the first time that it was performed in the church. We always say that the church is our biggest classroom, and it was the perfect place for the presentation. Being in church made it even more special! Congratulations to our students, Ms. Peterson, Mrs. Turner, Ms. Bur, Mrs. Britschge, Mr. Bardar and Mrs. Hemmel. Your hard work was quite evident!
