Thank you to our Raffles Chair, Marina Louis, for her diligent work on the 10-Week Club and to all who volunteered stuffing envelopes to help get tickets into envelopes and out the door... Don't forget to buy your tickets or sell them to friends and family - $10 per ticket. Our first drawing is October 17! If you have pledged a sponsorship to 10-Week or the Lion's Chase, or plan to purchase 10-Week Club tickets, please return the ticket stubs and checks as soon as possible to make life easier on our dedicated PTA treasurer and raffles chair. Today I had the opportunity to observe our new music teacher, Mrs. Shapoval, as she taught a PreK-4 music class. It was such a delight to watch her engage the students and to see how much fun learning is!

Thank you in advance for your support of our Fall Fundraisers - 10-Week Club and Lion's Chase - which greatly contribute toward the PTA's annual financial support to the school! It was wonderful to see our PK3-3rd grade parents last night and we look forward to seeing our 4th-8th grade parents at Back to School Night tonight.

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated the marriage of our daughter, Hillary, to Sergio Toledo-Madriz. We were truly blessed to be able to have the wedding at St. James Church in Red Bank. The officiant was none other than Monsignor Rosie. The weather was just perfect, and everything went off without a hitch. I hope you don’t mind that I wanted to share our joy with you!

Thank you to our Teacher Appreciation Co-Coordinators Amanda Povlich and Heather Mullen for their donation and setup of a BTS Breakfast last week for teachers and staff - a beautiful way to welcome them back to the classroom! Our Back to School Family Social was a rousing success, with the weather on our side, wonderful treats and games, and good company! Thank you to our Family Social Events Coordinator, Kristy Locklear, to our Uniform Exchange co-coordinators, Lisa Archbald and AnnMarie Hughes, to our RaiseRight Coordinator, Denise Wentzler, and to all who volunteered their time/talent, spending the evening with us! There are 10 drawings from October to December, with a chance each week to win a $500 Visa gift card. The first week of school ended with a beautiful mass at St. Paul Church. Fr. Miguel and Deacon Frank addressed the children. It was nice to see parents in attendance!

Welcome to our new, weekly PTA Update. We plan to send out an update with all things PTA-related each Thursday (to the best of our ability) to help keep you informed about what we're up to. Each week, we'll feature just a few upcoming events and/or intiatives. Every week, we'll also include resources for Volunteer Credits and Financial Committment information. The first day of school is in the books. The rain didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s spirits. I promise that the car line will get better, it just takes practice. It was nice to see Fr. Miguel at the car line this morning. He also visited school this morning and spoke to the student body. I thank him for his presence.

I hope that you have been enjoying this beautiful weather and the last few days of summer. We started the week with two days of professional development for the teachers. We took some time to catch up and to also meet our new teachers. I am very excited for these teachers to get to know all of you!
