Thanks to all who participated in the SPAC Golf Outing. It was a glorious day and we had almost 100 golfers. Your support helped make it a very successful event-all to benefit the St. Paul Athletic Committee-who in turn supports all of our children! We were able to catch up with many alumni parents as well as Monsignor Nolan and Monsignor Joe. Thank you to our school families who joined the event.
Today our 4
th and 5
th graders celebrated mass with Fr. Carlo. We were allowed to have altar servers and a student reader for the first time since last March. It was a wonderful experience for all.
On Friday, our PTA is sponsoring a virtual laser safari for all of our children. The program runs about 40-45 minutes. In-person learning students will watch from the classroom while remote students will be supplied with a link to view it from home. This is certainly a wonderful end of the year treat!
Keeping with the practice of our students presenting to others, our 8
th graders will present their Science Fair projects on this coming Monday, June 7th and our 7
th graders will present their projects on Friday, June 11
th. Thanks to Mrs. Griffin and the students for all of their hard work.
Hawkins and Christabelle Sutter, are graduates of St. Paul School, who are establishing a puzzle exchange in Princeton and Trenton to promote cognitive and social development within a family setting through puzzling. The idea for a puzzle exchange originated from their family experience where there is always a puzzle in their living room. Having received Lawrenceville's Welles Award to pursue this plan, they are collecting and distributing puzzles to kids of all ages through community outreach programs. Studies have shown that puzzling is beneficial in the areas of visual-spatial awareness, short-term memory, concentration, problem-solving skills, and even vocabulary for children. Puzzles even encourage multi-generational connections through conversations around the puzzle table. Their goal is to encourage puzzling and support cognitive development in our community. For their project, the first step is to collect the puzzles. Here is where you can help! They are hoping that St. Paul School families have puzzles that were enjoyed and can now be passed on to new homes. Please see the flier below.
Finally, I am sad but happy to announce that we have three teachers who are retiring at the end of this school year. Mrs. Schramke joined St. Paul School in 2003 and has served as our Technology teacher and Technology Coordinator. Mrs. Dolan joined St. Paul School in 2003 and has served as our Art teacher and go to person for so many other things. Mrs. Graja has served as a Language Arts teacher and Resource teacher.
We wish you God’s blessing, happiness, and peace in this next chapter of your lives. Thank you for all that you have done for us and for the many children whose lives you have touched. You will surely be missed!
