Dear Parents,
Please read this notice from our school nurse, Ms. Palumbo, regarding travel over the Easter break.
A reminder if you are planning travel over the Easter break, April 2nd-11th. Please reach out to us for purposes of planning for remote learning when we return on April 12th and let our school nurse, Ms. Palumbo, know of your travel plans. You may include both of us on one email. There are NO plans for all remote learning after Easter break.
The CDC is an advisory agency. Each individual state sets their own health initiatives and rules using, among other information, guidance from the CDC. There are many messages now coming from the CDC regarding quarantine and visiting for fully vaccinated people.
Please continue to follow the NJ travel restrictions which are our mandated protocols. When traveling outside of the NY, CT, PA and DE quarantine includes a choice of 7 days with a negative test after day 5, or 10 days quarantine without a test and with both choices, continue to monitor for symptoms for up to 14 days after travel. Full details can be found here: Are there travel restrictions to or from New Jersey? | FAQ (nj.gov)
The CDC recommendations for fully vaccinated people are also included here for information purposes only. NO STUDENT IN OUR SCHOOL IS VACCINATED. No vaccine has been approved for under 16 years of age. Therefore, the suggested CDC guidance for quarantine and visiting for fully vaccinated people can only apply to people older than any student that attends SPS.

Also, this is a reminder about our ongoing FULL mitigation measures that will continue throughout the entire 2020-2021 school year (as we see it now.) Vaccinated or not, traveling or not, leaving your house, etc., we will continue to mask up, physically distance, hand wash, and ventilate the building among many other daily efforts going on to keep our school in session and moving forward.
I thank you for your cooperation and please reach out if you have any questions.
God Bless,
Kim Clauss
