Dear families of our 5A students:
Yesterday we were told that a student in 5B has close household contact that tested positive for Covid-19. The student in 5B was tested after school and today that PCR result is positive for Covid 19. Our classes are cohorted. This means your children in 5A were not in close contact with a known positive case. Your children’s teachers in 5A and 5B were both in close contact with the positive student as they move between classes to teach. Both 5th grade teachers will therefore need to quarantine for 14 days.
All 5th grade students will begin remote learning on Friday January 15, a scheduled half day. There will be NO school on Thursday January 14 for 5th grade students to allow the teachers time to set up at home. Staffing limitations will not allow for a substitute teacher to be in 5A for the required quarantine period.
Your children in 5A were NOT close contacts of a positive person. They do not need to quarantine. As we are in a global pandemic, please symptom check every member of your family everyday and contact your health care provider if any symptoms. Please contact our school nurse, Tish Palumbo RN, with any concerns at [email protected] or 609-921-3377 during school hours.
God Bless,
Kim Clauss
