Welcome to school year 2021-2022! Together we are one big St. Paul School family working to provide the best learning environment in a healthy atmosphere.
COVID transmission mitigation remains at the forefront of our school day flow from arrival to departure. We work closely with the local Department of Health (DOH) for any COVID-19 related contact and illness concerns and will contact you as directed. We follow all state mandates aimed at mitigation of transmission. Our principal has already sent a letter home with some important health plan information including a link to our COVID-19 health plan can be found below. I ask that every family look through this plan with special attention to the bulleted items found on pages 4 and 5.
Absences: If your child will be absent for any reason, it is very important to call the nurse directly to report the absence. You may leave a message on the voicemail or send an email. Please include your child’s name, homeroom and reason for the absence. The direct phone to the nurse is 609-921-3377
Health Screenings: The New Jersey Department of Education requires annual health screenings that include height, weight, blood pressure, vision, and hearing in grades K-8, as well as scoliosis screening in grades 5 and 7 be conducted annually. Please let me know of any individual concerns.
Medication: ALL medication that must be given during the school day, whether prescribed or over the counter, must be provided in the original container with the child’s name, dose, and frequency. The CDC and AAP recommendation continues to be to refrain from the use of any aerosolized medications which includes the use of a nebulizer. If your child will need to use an inhaler or needs to have an emergency medication available for allergies, please go to the NURSES CORNER link under CAMPUS LIFE on the SPS website and submit the required forms.
Vaccinations: All students are expected to adhere to vaccinations, as mandated by the state per Advisory Council on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. We are audited annually by the Princeton DOH for compliance to this mandate.
It is my privilege to partner with you and to be the nurse at St. Paul School. Your child’s health is very important to me. Please reach out with any concerns. I am in school every day during the school day hours.
