Weekly Communication: May 18, 2021

Dear Parents,

Yesterday we were able to celebrate May Crowning with our 8^th grade students.  The second graders will be attending mass next Wednesday.  Our thanks to Father Carlo who seems to be healing nicely.   Please visit our website and click on our social media links to view our pictures and videos.  

I would like to thank our PTA and you for the continued support of our teachers throughout this year.   Last Tuesday, we had a half day dedicated to meetings with the teachers.  The PTA provided us with a wonderful lunch.  Every month, the PTA remembered the teachers with a special treat.   We are truly blessed.

Today, students in grades K-5 attended a virtual art presentation, Back to Bach, presented by students from West Windsor High School.  It was very engaging, and it was an opportunity for our children to see what older students can accomplish!

Our 3^rd segment of Star Testing (standardized testing – grades 2-8) was completed last week.   Results will be sent home in the communication folder on next Tuesday, May 25^th.

Our 8^th grade families will receive a schedule today of the activities planned for our graduates, as we wrap up their final year at SPS.  Please know that even though some of our students are being vaccinated, we are still required to follow COVID protocol.

As the Governor announced yesterday, all families should plan on in-person learning for next year!   Things could certainly change, but it looks like we are heading in the right direction.  
Per the NJ Covid dashboard on travel quarantine: 

• As of May 17, 2021, New Jersey's travel advisory is no longer in effect.
• New Jersey residents returning home and travelers visiting New Jersey do not need to quarantine, but should follow travel guidance from the CDC, the NJ Department of Health, and all local health and safety protocols of their travel destination.
• At this time, the CDC recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated. For more information, refer to the CDC's guidance for domestic travel.

Just to be clear, effective immediately, there will be no offer of remote learning after travel.
