Dear Families of our 1A students:
On Monday during the school day, we learned that a classmate of your child’s was identified as a close contact of a positive person. After learning of this, that student left school and had a PCR test which was reported positive today. (The transmission was not from a household contact and did not occur in school.)
In discussion with the Princeton Department of Health today, all 1A students who were in the classroom together on Monday, January 25th are considered to be close contacts of a positive person and quarantine is recommended. The quarantine period begins with the last day of exposure to the positive person and continues for 14 days. This includes the dates of January 25 - February 7, 2021. Quarantine means your child can be in and about your home but should not be out beyond that.
We will begin remote learning for all 1A students on Friday, January 29th. There will be NO SCHOOL FOR 1A on Thursday, January 28th to allow the teacher to prepare for remote learning. We have a scheduled PD day for staff on Monday, February 8th. The children may return to school on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. All siblings of students in 1A may continue to attend school. Should any student or household member of a 1A student become ill with COVID symptoms or a positive COVID test while home in quarantine, please report this to our school nurse, Tish Palumbo either by email: [email protected] or by phone during the school day: 609-921-3377.
We continue to employ all COVID-19 transmission mitigation strategies every day we are in school. We recognize families who have chosen in-person learning desire to have their child in school every day. Our intention is to keep the children in school for all days possible. When a disruption must occur, it is a health decision, and it is made using the best information available to us for everyone involved.
Thank you sincerely for your understanding. Please keep all our families in your prayers. Please reach out to our school nurse with any questions. If you would like a call, please leave your best contact number and she will get back to you.
God Bless,
Kim Clauss
